Role Summary: GE's Client Engineering team is responsible for driving and enabling strategic end user technology offerings across GE such as Windows 10 and MacOS.
The Enterprise Application Engineer - End User Technology will run Windows OS client projects and manage operational queues for GE imaging/coreload.
Essential Responsibilities: - Participate in testing of all desktop OS image releases, including in place upgrades, on a variety of hardware and software configurations - Drive the ongoing User Experience improvements and simplification within Windows by evaluating the configuration, settings, and applications, and making recommendations for improvement - Manage L3\\L4 ticketing queue for Client Engineering and provide SME level Windows knowledge - Create, update and maintain Client Engineering documentation related to imaging processes - Participate in testing of new client hardware to ensure all core applications work as expected
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management or other technical / IT field
Desired Characteristics: - MTA, MCSA, or MCSE certifications - Experience in programming PowerShell & VB Script on Windows Client devices - Experience with SQL on Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle - Experience in Windows packaging methodologies, including MSI, MST, AppX or 3rd party tools - Experience supporting Windows 7, 8, or 10 in an Enterprise Environment - System management and deployment methodologies - Strong team player, collaborates well with others to solve problems and incorporates input from various sources - Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
