Role Summary:
Works on multiple projects as a project leader or internal consultant. Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or two or more specialized architecture areas.

Essential Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
  • Lead and coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction across the product portfolio or product line.
  • Analyze design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
  • Review and/or analyze and develop architectural requirements at domain level within product portfolio or team.
  • Participate in the EA domain governance model.
  • Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
  • Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support actives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring of APM Web/UI team
  • Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap for APM Web/UI Stack
  • Identify and implement development best practices, including Design and Code Reviews, Unit Tests and Test Automation
  • Drive innovation using latest Web/UI technologies
  • Inculcate a culture of out of the box thinking, exploration and problem solving within the team
  • Work on prototypes and proof of concepts using leading edge technologies and frameworks
  • Solve security related problems on the Web/UI stack that have not been solved before
  • Build a reliable and performing Web/UI platform
  • Participate in domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals.
  • Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level, aligning architectural requirements with software development strategy.
  • Review exceptions and make recommendations to architectural standards at a domain level.
  • Respond to customer issues in a timely manner to ensure highest customer satisfaction


Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 12 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master’s degree with 8 years of experience OR PhD with 5 years of experience.

  • Must be willing to travel (15%)
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, California


Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise:
  • Recent experience working with client-side JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular, etc.)
  • Recent experience working with Node.js frameworks (Express, Koa, Loopback, etc)
  • Experience with module loaders (ES6 modules, System.js, Require.js, etc)
  • Experience using, integrating, and optimizing front end build tools and package managers (Grunt/Gulp, Webpack, NPM, JSPM, etc)
  • Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript (ES5/ES6/TS), CSS3, and HTML5,
  • Hands on experience building single-page web applications that perform well in modern, mobile, and legacy browsers (responsive UI)
  • Expert in debugging JavaScript and CSS
  • Familiar with at least one unit testing framework, such as Mocha or Jasmine
  • Familiar with at least one end-to-end testing framework, such as Selenium, Nightwatch or Protractor
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with various types of APIs; comfortable with authentication and authorization (basic/OAuth/SAML)
  • Familiar with common web application security concerns and you know how to prevent and fix exploits (XSS/clickjacking)
  • Experience in developing browser extensions or plugins to enable additional
    functionality on the browser and to integrate with native OS/platforms
  • Experience in developing web based applications on popular cloud platforms like Google Apps Platform, Salesforce Developers Platform, Box/Dropbox etc.
Business Acumen:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of business' structure (P&Ls) and the interplay of functions to support business goals; demonstrate knowledge of the business products, key processes, suppliers, customers and market/competitors.
Leadership:
  • Develop, motivate and direct staff to create a team environment.
  • Recommend expenditures based on the size, scope, and cost of hardware and software components. Assist in developing business cases.
  • Collaborate with project management on reporting project status, issues, risks and benefits. Meet with project leaders and software development leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with project goals and requirements.
  • Ensure understanding of issues and present clear rationale.
