Role Summary:
The PC Client Staff End User Support Engineer is responsible for day-to-day management of our software packaging service and partnering with our Software Distribution team to drive efficiencies in our processes. The engineer will be also be responsible for working in our broad team environment identifying and providing solutions to improve the overall coverage of our core tools as well as improving our speed to market.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • On-board, package, and maintain shrink-wrapped and proprietary applications/software and ensure packaging strategies maximize our deployment penetration across the install base
  • Gather requirements from business and applications teams and participate in project planning and implementation of key initiatives relative application/software packaging on PC platforms.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to application/software packaging activities.
  • Work within a matrixed team environment to complete projects on time ensuring end-point stability as it relates to changes related to application/software packaging and delivery
  • Document the packaging SOP and handoffs within the team

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, OR in lieu of degree: HS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of IT experience or equivalent military experience/training.
  • Minimum of 5+ years application packaging experiencing with technologies like Wyse, Windows MSI installer or other equivalent technologies
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience with WIndows 7, 8, and/or 10 including supporting users in a large install base
  • Minimum of 2 or more successful large scale implementations
  • Minimum of 2+ year of experience with PowerShell, VB scripting, or other equivalent technologies
  • Minimum 7+ years application/software packaging (creating MSIs).
  • Minimum 5+ years Windows troubleshooting as it pertains to application/software packaging.
  • Minimum 2+ years of work with Active Directory Group Policy and application deployment.

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Day to day support of workstations and servers in a large scale environment
  • Understanding of application deployment within Tanium or other content delivery solutions
