Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for the delivery of UX research, you will work to reveal what our users need by conducting primary research, exploring user behaviors and motivations, and working with teams of Designers, Engineers and others to develop industrial internet applications. These applications feature in-depth data visualization and a geographic information system (GIS) that enable customers to visualize, question, analyze, and interpret data to understand relationships, patterns, and trends. We need someone that thoroughly enjoys working with engineering, design and development teams, educating them on the advantages of incorporating well executed research findings. You’ll inspire change at all stages of product development by delivering exciting oral, written and visual presentations and most importantly, your job as a researcher is to help the UX team understand what would make the system feel intuitive, accessible, informative—and actionable.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will: • Organize and lead kick-off discovery meetings • Be responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing, and presenting user research, in a fast-paced software development environment, from early strategic direction through post-release validation • Employ a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods including contextual inquiry, participatory design, and formative and summative usability studies, and building personas • Lead all phases of research studies including preparation, scheduling and test script development • Lead research projects with cross-functional stakeholders including designers and engineers, ensuring that all stakeholders are thoroughly briefed on insights • Work closely with engineering and business analysts to work through both business and user requirements, then translating final requirements to the design • Work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects with multi-disciplinary teams
Qualifications/Requirements: • First and foremost, applicants should be awesome, empathic design thinkers who can engage in an end-to-end experience, from vision to production • Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science or related field • 3+ years executing ethnographic and usability studies to evaluate complex workflows across rich software interfaces on desktop, mobile, tablet and the web • Experience with UX design in an Agile development process • Superior verbal and written presentation skills to communicate clear, concise findings and actionable recommendations to designers, technologists, and stakeholders
