Role Summary: The Core Technologies – Digital Operations Center (DOC) at GE Digital, Atlanta is responsible for operational delivery and support of production cloud infrastructure of Industrial Internet services and applications. The Manager, Command Center will manage the Level 1 Engineers 24x7 ensuring best in class cloud service in a follow-the-sun model. This is a very critical role in providing 99.99% SLA. Oversee the end-to-end customer experience in the GE Cloud.
The DOC Engieer will define, analyze, plan, and measure all aspects of the internal processes related to the services delivered with a focus on managing toward automation. The Manager will build the team to scale with the growth. Responsible for ensuring best in class cloud service including the following areas:
24x7 Follow-the-Sun Model
Monitoring tools and scripts
Troubleshooting and resolution
Incident and Problem Management
Customer and Services Onboarding
Security monitoring and remediation
Alerts & Customer Notifications
Backups / High Availability / DR Capabilities

BS Computer Science or a minimum of 5 years of IT experience
5 + years of experience in 24x7 technical support

Must be willing to travel (20%)
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Atlanta / Alpharetta, GA
Hands-on technical leadership experience in a cloud/datacenter/telecom service provider cloud engineering team with excellent understanding of key technologies across SaaS/PaaS/IaaS stack
6+ years of experience managing 24x7 and global teams in a SaaS environment
6+ years’ experience in process management and improvement in a technical environment
Strong knowledge of networks, compute, cloud, virtualization, network infrastructure, telecom networks, circuits, datacenter technologies and best practices. HA network architectures, and operational procedures.
Experience with Chef, Puppet, Cloud Formation and/or other automated deployment methodologies
Deep expertise in emerging technologies like Open stack, Mesos, Docker, Scality, block/object store technologies, SDN, VMware and Virtualization technologies. Firm understanding of application and infrastructure architectural deliverables.
Ability to differentiate technology solutions to solve disaster recovery, high availability, redundant, geographic load balancing and replication needs. Previous experience in startup operations.
Ability to see that cloud as a utility delivered non-stop day in and day out.
