Role Summary:
The internship position is within Machine Head Subsystem and Mechanical Engineering team in charge of the cooling systems, wind turbine air conditioning system and hydraulic power units of the wind turbine. He/she will provide innovative design solutions to meet requested functionality, timing, cost and reliability targets of the team, focused mainly in introducing workflow process and tool improvements.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Compilation, integration and upgrade of different calculation tools used for dimensioning the wind turbine cooling system (excel environment)
  • Upgrade of the “ECO-Flow” tool (internal tool done in visual basic environment) including a thermal balance analysis and air-flow calculations module (“1D” model)
  • (Optional) Create a “design practice” of a cooling system and air conditioning system of an off-shore wind turbine

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Mechanical Engineering studies
    • Experience in computer tool development (Visual Basic or similar)
    • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
    • EU Work Permit

    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
