Role Summary: The Entry Wireline Operator will assist experienced crew members in supporting wireline operations in the field or at the facility.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Entry Wireline Operator, you will:
Rig up and rig down wireline equipment under supervision from Sr. Operator and Field Specialist
Assist supervisor during operations
Make up tool string with no supervision
Must be able to repair and maintain wireline equipment with no supervision
Operate all truck mounted hydraulic crane
Operate and maintain all pressure control systems
Operate and maintain all positive dump bailer systems
Operate and maintain knock-out tools
Maintain all wireline fishing tools
Must be able to complete all Industry Required Safety Training
Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 6 months of experience in mechanical, technical, electrical, wireline field services or heavy machine / equipment operator (OR Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical, technical, electrical, wireline field services or heavy machine /equipment operator, in lieu of education)
Work 14/7 rotation schedule
Required to obtain / maintain a CDL Class B driver's license with Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of employment
Work well and communicate well with others
Work independently from supervision from Field Specialist and may lead Operators
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work on a 24-hour call basis to respond to customer needs
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
Undergo Periodic fitness for duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications will be required for onshore/offshore remote location assignments
Minimum 1 year of experience with pressure control equipment highly preferred
Minimum 6 months of experience as a crane operator highly preferred
Excellent mechanical aptitude
Ability to work well and communicate well with others
Can work independently from supervision from Field Specialist and may lead Operators
