Role Summary:
You will be responsible for programing a component, feature and or feature set. The candidate should have a passion for quality code and experience with writing software from high-level embedded applications down to register-level device drivers are essential. You will also contribute to design discussions.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Work with the cross-functional team to translate non-technical user requirements into specific engineering requirements and technical specifications
• Perform the specification, test and integration, machine and device automation, coding, implementation, and documentation
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
• Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse
• Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities
• Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
• Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
• Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
• Research new technologies and enhance the company’s IP portfolio
• Work in an agile iterative development environment

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field
• Proficiency in Matlab, Shell Scripting and C/C++
• Fluency in English and Portuguese
• Legal authorization to work in Brazil

Desired Characteristics:
• Master’s Degree in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
• Strong technical skills in Embedded Linux development
• Experience with new web patterns including HTML5
• Experience in communication standards such as IEC61850 and DNP3
• Experience with real-time implementation in a variety of embedded hardware platforms
• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
• Demonstrates curiosity in engineering and the ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to project needs
• Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
• Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
