Essential Responsibilities: This position is integral to the IT team supporting GE Healthcare Technologies – India for Infrastructure technology excellence, process simplification and robustness at the John F Welch Technology Center. Primary functions of this position will include:
Responsible for systems design, implementation and ongoing management at JFWTC, focusing on security, availability, performance, and redundancy.
Work closely with Engineering teams and IT Architect to transition and validate design, lead the new implementation and act as escalation for Product Infrastructure environment.
Own, review and support performance and Interoperability testing needs and use cases.
Works closely with Scrum Teams, Systems Engineers, cross functional teams and recommend inputs on design for performance Infra environment
Responsible for performance/Product testing infrastructure and design; factoring in cost effectiveness and customer environments
Able to Analyze the performance reports and suggest probable bottle necks in host layer, DB layer and client layer.
Understands product interfaces, protocols, interoperability, and product platforms
Work closely with engineering teams for optimization, simplification and increasing the operational effectiveness, technical escalations and service improvement.
You would also help to build DevOps Infrastructure and Environment Provisioning, Deployment and Monitoring tools that will support, enhance and grow a true DevOps model
Establish and maintain robust documentation pertaining to the services and build outs
Design and develop re-usable components and operational strategies to support scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, backup, restore, etc.
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, or related discipline or equivalent related IT experience
6 to 7+ years of IT experience in managing systems environment
Strong in IBM AIX based Power5/P-Series Servers and its configuration, LPAR, VPAR, DLPAR, VIO Concepts and implementation.
Manage AIX systems using command as well as through management portals including Changing Kernel Parameters for system stability and performance tuning is a must.
File system management, resizing and LVM operations is a must.
Strong in troubleshooting Hardware and Operating System related issues.
Writing shell / Perl scripts to accomplish routine tasks and monitor system parameters
Performance monitoring of System resources and applications like Oracle DB. Knowledge on Oracle DB installation and optimization on AIX will be a definite advantage.
Certification on AIX (IBM System Administration, Hardware, Performance Tuning, Network Administration) is a plus.
Manage templates of AIX environment and to spawn copies of it for each Product cycle.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bangalore
Must be 18 years or older

Ability to work across technology and process teams in developing solutions
Strong executive level presentation skills
Good Understanding of other Infrastructure technologies
