Role Summary:
You will be responsible for the Quality Assurance of a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also contribute to design discussions.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

  • Provide expertise in Design, Architecture, Development and Shipping from Quality Engineering perspective
  • Lead impact assessment and decision related to Quality Engineering plan and strategy for the whole release.
  • Provide expert oversight, mentoring team members and leading quality initiatives in large development efforts. Experienced in effectively delegating work.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of competitive landscape, latest trends and technologies in Quality Engineering.
  • Demonstrate the ability of benchmarking against competition.
  • Expert level skills in building value proposition with total customer focus
  • Provides subject matter expertise in quality engineering processes and methodologies with ability to adapt and improvise in various situations.
  • Navigate through ambiguity, prioritizes conflicting asks and shows ability to adapt to changing project situations
  • Demonstrate expert level skills in collaborating with different stakeholders, Influencing decisions and an ability to take strategic view.
  • Lead Quality Engineering efforts across the product version/s
  • Provide expertise in continuous integration process and test automation while mentoring and training team members in the process.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering for cloud environments OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience software engineering for cloud environments

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon

    Desired Characteristics:

    Technical Expertise:

  • Proven hands-on experience with object-oriented design and programming languages for back-end (Java, Microservices Architecture, REST and Message Queues) and front-end technologies (Java Script, jQuery, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3, Requirejs and Bootstrap)
  • Strong hands-on Experience in developing secured web services (Security principles, OAuth2.0)
  • Experience with Cloud Foundry and AWS services (S3, CDN, Lambda, Api Gateway, RDS, Cognito) and build/dependency management tools like Maven, npm and Bower
  • Experience working in Scrum teams in scaled agile projects (preferably with Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Hands-on experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driver Development (BDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), Continuous Testing (CT);
  • Working knowledge Quality Management System (QMS) and Design Reviews process for Healthcare industry.
  • Experience working on software projects in the Healthcare domain (diagnostic imaging, patient information systems). Experience in medical imaging / DICOM a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in utilizing Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Integration and Data), J2EE, or similar frameworks. Hands-on experience with web development a plus. Experience developing micro services a plus.
  • Experience with test automation technologies (e.g., junit, jbehave, white framework) & modern CI tooling (e.g., Coverity, SonarQube)
  • Experience with both service (REST) and web application (Selenium) testing

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
