Role Summary:
Site Communications Leader is responsible the development of a communication strategy and the day-to-day execution of communications for the Greenville site. You will be a strategic advisor to business leaders and develop a robust business communications that directly contribute to GE Power’s growth. In this role, you will also lead communications for the Advanced Manufacturing Works (AMW) – GE Power’s advanced manufacturing facility, working closely with AMW leadership.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Site Communication Leader, you will

  • Establish and execute a comprehensive site communications strategy, including for the AMW
  • In partnership with HR, develop an internal communications strategy that drives culture change and includes modern communication channels that keep employees informed and engaged
  • Advise on and lead site-wide event planning and maintain a calendar of events
  • In partnership with the leadership team, develop and lead CSR-related activities including site fundraisers, working with the local GE Volunteers
  • Work with local teams to advise on their communication needs and partner with them to ensure coordinated internal communications
  • Represent Greenville with requests from Power HQ or GE Corporate
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to tell the Greenville story in the most complete, integrated and compelling way.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8 years of communications experience


Desired Characteristics:
  • 10 years of communications experience, including employee communications, media, crisis communications and community relations
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with senior leaders; ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to conceptualize, structure, write, and present compelling stories for a wide range of audiences
  • Experience developing communications plans including media, employee & culture and community relations
  • Strong project management, excellent business acumen, strong leadership skills
  • Team player attitude with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Broad knowledge of print, video and digital media technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with news media
