Role Summary: As a Lead VAT Analyst, you'll play an integral part within GE's Global Operations Center in Budapest, Hungary. Supporting GE's affiliates across 31 countries in Europe, this role provides legal, regulatory and VAT compliance for multiple GE entities and focuses particularly on controllership, review and submission of VAT returns.
Ensure that VAT and associated returns are correctby reviewing VAT returns utilizing the GE VAT Reporting Tool
Identify potential VAT errors and proposeor work on corrective actions
Liaise with the local Corporate VAT & Business VAT team membersto ensure compliance with local regulations& business policies
Provide training courses for VAT return preparers and other accounting functions to improve VAT compliance
Coordinate & work on European projectsfocusing on VAT process & system improvements like standardizations and simplifications
SupportVAT internal and external audits
Being a stakeholder of the migration of the VAT process from Business to Global Ops Finance (VAT Review & Submission)
Support the migration> of VAT preparation processes from the business to Global Operations Center, agreeing and monitoring the migration plans to ensure GE meets the necessary VAT processes
University or college degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
Written and verbal fluency in English, additional European language is an advantage
Proven experience of VAT, preferably in multinational environment
Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics
Strong analytical skills and ability to technically discuss VAT issues with local/regional stakeholders
