Role Summary:
The primary responsibility of the SW Engineer will be Lifecycle Software Support for the Maternal Infant Care products. The position includes product design and execution of strategic engineering programs in addition to driving cross-functional engagement of quality project initiatives. This role requires the interaction with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality and Service teams in order to ensure the product quality goals set forth by the business.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Work across the entire software development lifecycle including high-level and detailed design, software implementation, verification, and maintenance activities
• Develop real-time and non-real-time software in C++ or Java
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and software system tests to verify the design and implementation
• Lead the design of solutions and drive those decisions into the design of the product
• Leverage continuous integration, static analysis, Agile methods and other industry best practices during the development of software.
• Lead non-program, engineering improvements to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the software team
• Collaborate globally with a project team using the Agile Scrum methodology

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related computer degree.
• 6 years of experience in object-oriented design, implementation, and verification.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle and development environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows including management of applications, services, drivers, and administration/configuration.
• Experience with basic database management design and management tools – ideally Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting, discussing, and documenting technical information.
• Demonstrated effective problem solving capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and across various teams.

U.S. (Country) Specific Qualifications:
1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time
2. Must be willing to work in our Wauwatosa, WI facility full-time

5. Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
6. Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background

Desired Characteristics:
• Experience in stress testing and performance analysis & tuning of OS sub-systems.
• Experience with virtualization environments such as VMWare or HyperV.
• Experience with security analysis and risk management design considerations.
• Experience with socket communications programming and TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with software engineering tools and methodologies: Requirements management tools, UML tools, Version control systems, Microsoft Visual studio or similar IDEs, C#, C++, static and dynamic analysis, defect tracking and resolutions tools and automated testing.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as TFS, Perforce, Subversion, etc.
• Demonstrated strong software design abilities.
• Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related computer field.
• Demonstrated experience with development of medical device software..
