About Us:
GE announced they signed a definitive agreement to sell the Water & Process Technologies business to SUEZ, a services and solutions company with global operations primarily in water and waste management. The deal will be subject to customary closing conditions such as regulatory review and appropriate consultation and we expect this to be complete by mid-2017. Water & Process Technologies will operate business as usual through this process and will continue to meet its commitments to its valued customers and employees. This includes hiring strong talent to help the business grow and be successful. GE is targeting to complete the sale of the business by mid-2017.

Role Summary:
Senior Product Marketing Specialist Refinery shall provide technical support to the commercial and service teams (field teams) for refinery process and utility treatment applications, and aid them in creating value for our customers at their sites. The candidate shall work with the field teams in a “hands-on” capacity to provide application experience and expertise related to refining applications (both refinery process and utility).

Essential Responsibilities:
The individual shall work with the field teams to help them through the discovery process and
identify avenues to add value to the customer operations and revenue to GE at an optimum cost to
treat.
Desired outcomes include both the retention of existing business and profitable expansion of new
business. This person must be a problem solver and be able to assess a customer’s challenge
from both a technical perspective as well as develop an understanding of the value/cost
relationship the customer would derive from GE solution offering.
Essential Responsibilities
•Promote and adhere to a culture of safety and integrity in all aspects of our business.
•Develop an expert understanding of the GE Refinery Process Chemical product line, equipment,
and service offerings and be able to identify which GE solution would have a positive impact on
the customers operations. Train the field teams on refinery industry applications and educate them
about our products and their efficacy.
•Support the field teams in trouble shooting at customer sites through data analysis to identify
trends and calculate the value of our chemical treatment programs; then effectively communicate
the findings to the commercial team and/or customer.
•Guide the commercial team in preparing technical review documents, audit reports, and rootcause
analysis. Attend and contribute to technical reviews at the customer location.
•Participate in technical discussions with the field teams for new opportunities and recommend
new commercial applications for existing products. Work with the field teams to develop Best
Practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all existing applications.
•Perform competitive assessments (market sizing, profitability, technical trends, competitors) to
identify key assets or areas for investment and develop and implement strategies that will enable
us to profitably increase our share of the market. Built market intelligence data base.
•Recommend the new products necessary to deliver on our growth strategy and support those
recommendations with detailed business plans. Ensure new product developments are delivered
to market with detailed product launch plans and sales collateral documentation.
•Work with the Global Product Application teams to bring the new technology and products to the
ASEAN and Korea sub-regions of the APAC region. Utilize the escalation process to resolve
customer service delivery issues and opportunities for which resources outside the region need to
be brought in.
•Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total
scope project offerings.
•Act as an expert and a champion of technical tools and resources that can assist the commercial
team, and actively update and develop technical tools
•Conduct customer workshops to build brand value and customer awareness and develop case
studies and other technical marketing documentation and reference folders for field team.
•Work in tandem with sourcing to localize raw materials to bring down the lead time and cost.
•Develop and understanding of the Petrochemical Process and the relevant GE solutions, to be
able to assist in this market segment along with the primary segment of Refinery.

Qualifications/Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university or college
•A minimum of 8 years of experience (10 years preferred) preferably selling and/or marketing
complex solutions and/or technical sales in the Petrochemical and Refinery industry.
•Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the major petrochemical processes
•Must have the ability and demonstrated experience to listen and communicate with customers
•Strong external focus, with ability to assess customer value of performance, price, operating &
maintenance costs, availability and operability
•Motivated self-starter with a demonstrated leadership style showing capabilities to accelerate
change and work in a rapidly changing environment.
•Operate independently and deliver business results while demonstrating leadership through
action.
•Proven analytical skill set and strategic mindset with strong competence in value proposition
analysis. Can master statistics and understands how to implement data driven decisions
•Excellent written and verbal communication
•Ability to travel locally approximately 30% of the time
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
•A significant percentage of the time the work is performed at the customer site either outside
within the operating units subjected to local weather conditions as well as unit hazards or inside
field labs, offices or conference rooms. A majority of the off-site customer work can be performed
in a home office or at several GE office sites.
•Some of the active work at the customer site requiring climbing ladders for inspection purposes
and entering confined spaces in accordance with the Best Practice safety guidelines.
•Office work has some low level physical activities and ergonomic concerns within an office
environment.
•Vehicle driving sometime for hours at a time to a customer site or office.

Desired Characteristics:
•Master's degree in science or engineering
•Ability to work strategically and tactically
•Experience with full customer life cycle optimization
•Strong analytical, project management and organizational skills
•Excellent planning and prioritization skills, the ability to manage several projects concurrently
•Strong command of English language, multilingual particularly in ASEAN/Korean languages
(Korean, Thai, Bahasa, etc.) is an advantage.
