Role Summary: Customs Specialist GE RCIS provides execution of pre-entry, customs clearance and issue resolution of import/export/special programs customs transactions in a compliant and efficient manner in accordance with Customs Enterprise Standard. CS arranges efficient customs database, fulfil tracking reports. Execute manager’s instructions in order to provide implementation of GE Customs Enterprise Standard delivery model.
Essential Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include: 1. Perform pre-entry customs clearance and issue resolution operation and arrange implementation of Global Customs SOP and Enterprise Standard 2. Manage Customs formalities, performs effectively import, export and special procedures in compliant manner 3. Execute and Improve pre-entry greenlight procedure, request and support quality improving of shipping documents 4. Request or compile necessary import and export documentation, such as customs declarations, customs invoices, certificates of origin, technical documentation and cargo-control documents 5. Arrange and maintain product database: fulfill data, support OGA documents and new requirements appliance, control trade mark letters advance requesting 6. Follow management instructions and support process of correct instructing of Customs agents regarding interrelations, insurance, valuation terms per each contract for Customs Clearance process adherence and improving 7. Collects data and prepares reports to meet specific internal reporting requirements Timely and consistently fulfill reports 8. Communicate and escalate any process or compliance failure 9. Ensure all verbal and written interaction with all business partners at highest professional standards, work cross-functionally and collaborate in compliant and efficient manner with all internal and external customers (Sourcing, Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Sales, Engineering, Service, Forwarders, Customs Agents, Warehouses and Authorities)
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Customs, International Logistics and Trade or related areas e.g. Finance, Legal, Economics, Management 2. 1-3 years of experience working in logistics and customs in international environment 3. Knowledge of Incoterms, Customs Code of CU, HTS, local customs regulations and requirements, advanced MS Office user, Customs and ERP systems, project management 4. Soft skills: accurate, analytic, creative, purposeful, responsive, cooperative, working under pressure with tight deadlines 5. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment 6. Certificate of Customs declarant and experience in CD fulfillment as a plus
