Role Summary:
The successful candidate will design and lead a rigorous quality assurance program that spans both cloud and edge solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for designing the Testing Strategy and subsequently implementation across our portfolio of complex modules, critical components and end-to-end solutions. S/he has the vision to understand, design and integrate quality within SDLC. This position will orchestrate a group of embedded quality engineers to achieve the strategy. This position requires both technical leadership capabilities as well as people leadership within a matrixed organization. The position is responsible for driving the Solution Quality Engineering efforts across unit, module, system and user acceptance testing. The successful candidate will show deep understanding of architecture, scalability, availability and performance considerations as well as impacts on quality engineering for both edge and cloud based solutions.

In this role you will :

  • Provide expertise and leadership in Design, Architecture, Development and Shipping from Quality Engineering perspective
  • Lead impact assessment and decisions related to Quality Engineering plan and strategy for the whole portfolio
  • Provide expert oversight, mentoring team members and leading quality initiatives in large development efforts
  • Effectively allocate work across a geographically diverse and extended team
  • Provide subject matter expertise in quality engineering processes and methodologies with the ability to adapt and improvise in various situations
  • Navigate through ambiguity, prioritize conflicting asks and show the ability to adapt to changing project situations
  • Demonstrate expert level skills in collaborating with different stakeholders, influencing decisions and an ability to define and drive a strategic view
  • Lead Quality Engineering efforts across the solution portfolio / versions
  • Provide expertise in continuous integration process and test automation while mentoring and training team members in the process
  • Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse
  • Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables
  • Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective
  • Deliver resource strategy and plans, including use of 3rd parties / partners, etc., in support of your quality excellence mission


  • BS Degree, computer science or STEM focus from an accredited University or College
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience (Including leadership credentials across disciplines and functions, experience across the entire product lifecycle: development, QA and release management, and experience in building / testing scalable and highly available distributed systems)

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Deep domain expertise in the technologies and strategies surrounding edge device development including communication protocols, sensor technologies, and integrated hardware and firmware development
  • Deep domain expertise in cloud-based software technologies and strategies including modern big data technologies, Restful APIs as well application / platform frameworks
  • Have a proven track record of successful problem definition, decomposition and estimation
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability working in a fast pace and dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with systems engineering best practices across software, firmware and hardware disciplines
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
  • Clarity of thinking to work through limited information and / or vague problem definitions
  • Ability to influence outcomes through others
  • Building direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas
  • Proactively identify and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
  • History of sharing knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill across extended organizations
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
  • Ability to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility
  • Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members
  • Shows ability to effectively delegate work
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in Quality Engineering
  • Ability to benchmark against competition
