Role Summary:
Provide leadership in the implementation of Lean initiatives across a manufacturing facility. The Lean Manufacturing Specialist will utilize various lean methodologies to eliminate low value steps and waste in various activities across the plant. Work as a leader for training and serve as a focal point for process improvements using Kaizen tools and methodologies. Monitor Business progress through key metrics. Lead change initiatives that will enable the Business to reach a world-class level.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Create and lead teams in the strategic improvement of reducing waste and improving product velocity
- Provide training and leadership as needed, driving best practices in lean processes and implementation
- Advise and counsel leaders on issues impacting product flow and Inventory
- Establish visual management tools and methods
- Conduct ongoing assessment of business level lean initiatives and business objectives

Quality Specific Goals:

- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
- Knowledge and understanding of production process work instructions and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specifications
- Ensures the creation of accurate, complete and timely records and DHRs (adjust for band level)

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with supply chain experience or lean experience; or HS diploma and a combination of supply chain experience or lean experience or equivalent working experience
- Basic knowledge of Toyota Production System: JIT, JIDOKA, and HEIJUNKA
- Experience with tools such as SMED, 5S’s, POKA-YOKE, KAN BAN, CHAKU-CHAKU
- Demonstrated effective leadership, communication, training, team facilitation and analytical problem-solving skills

Desired Characteristics:
- Experience working with world-class consultants using TPS tools
- Hands on training in Japan with TPS tools
- MBA/MS
- BB or MBB preferred
