Role Summary: Extensive skill and experience in technical/physical security, crisis management, and guarding required. Candidate will lead the company’s technical security program, focusing on the physical security of people, property (physical/intellectual), and product. Have in-depth knowledge of security principles, technology, and design/implementation of security systems. Serve as Facility Security Officer. Must possess a U.S. TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance within one year.
Identify, analyze, develop and implement new mitigation strategies related to technical/physical security principles and standards to develop options to reduce mission risks and vulnerabilities; perform detailed analysis of the expected lifecycle cost and quantified benefit.
Ensure adherence to GE standards and guidelines relating to hardware installation projects from single device up to full build outs, including remote build-out and installation of technical security systems: access control, intruder alarm systems and digital recording systems and other related vendor supplied services.
Maintains functional and technical requirements for security technical solutions, includes facility access control hardware, cameras, network video recorders (NVR’s), badges and all security related hardware/software.
Responsible for the coordination and installation of such systems to ensure compliance with local and international government standards/regulations and understand Information security best practices resulting in cost-effective installations based upon risk.
Serve as the technical/physical security subject matter expert within the Security and Crisis Management function. Maintain personal effectiveness by keeping up with trends and technology in the industry and by personal development activities.
Evaluate vendor performance and services and assist Sourcing in the development of Master Services Agreements when required. Ensure that clear, accurate and timely documents are maintained for all critical records, processes, communications with suppliers, customers and management.
Work with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance GE’s overall security posture. Consults and designs Security solutions with IT architecture of software, hardware and network interoperability.
Serve as Facility Security Officer.
Significant experience in either corporate security, law enforcement/military conducting physical security risk and vulnerability assessments, project management, and technical system installations both domestically and internationally
Extensive knowledge and experience with facility security planning and design
Expertise in organizing, and implementing technical/physical security projects
Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work/develop solutions both in a team setting and independently
Experience collaborating with internal groups (IT, Facilities, Regional and Business Security Directors, Legal, etc.) and outside groups (Vendors, Emergency Services, etc.) as it relates to security operations
Hold a U.S. government security clearance or be eligible to obtain a U.S. government TS/SCI security clearance within one year from date of hire
US Citizenship; serve as Facility Security Officer
BS degree/BS degree in Engineering
Extensive knowledge of and experience with current security technology including access control, CCTV, identification media, NVR, and special applications in a corporate environment
Extensive knowledge of Lenel OnGuard, Genetec platforms
Experience as a government or corporate technical security officer/technician designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining access control, video surveillance, physical security, visitor management, and threat mitigation solutions
Experience, and in-depth understanding, of sourcing and procurement models, tools, processes, and policies in a program/project/contract manager role (government equivalent – Contracting Officer’s Representative/Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative [COTR/COR])
High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information; excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy
Must exhibit excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
