Role Summary:
The Lead Engineer – HMI Retrofit position requires an individual that possesses a solid understanding of visualization software and control systems as well as exhibits strong project management and communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, you will:

• Provide technical leadership for assigned HMI retrofit projects under the overall management responsibility of the project manager
• Be accountable for on-time schedule performance, project milestones, customer deliverables, and compliance with regulations and standards
• Design and implement Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens for turbine control retrofit using a variety of HMI software packages
• Provide technical support to software engineers in meeting customer needs on HMI applications
• Design, implement and support communication networks for control system applications
• Support proposal activities for HMI retrofit project opportunities
• Provide technical support of HMI and control system during commissioning to ensure customer satisfaction
• Perform hardware selection of system control components for HMI solutions

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in power generation and/or process control design

Desired Characteristics:
• Strong background in HMI application software including Proficy iFix, Cimplicity, Historian based products
• Familiarity with Mark V / VI / VIe control system programming and system design
• Track record of long lead control system projects
• Strong computer skills in setting up Windows based applications including Windows XP, Windows 2000, Win7
• Strong troubleshooting skills including hardware, software and communication networking.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Motivated, self-starter, results oriented
• Proven team player with solid cooperation, flexibility and mentoring traits
• Proficient MS Office computer skills
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical field
• Combined Cycle Power Plant design experience
• Domestic / international controls design experience
• Understanding of turbine control applications
• Field engineering experience
• Knowledge or understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, TCP / IP
