Role Summary: We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to help us develop Asymptote’s range of cryogenic equipment. This role is for a versatile, driven and quality-focused Mechanical Design Engineer who is ready to take on design responsibility from the outset. Asymptote is building a world-class team in the Cell and Gene Therapy industry & the projects we undertake are highly cross functional (e.g. Thermo-Physics, Electronics, Software, Biological & Mechanical interfaces).
Essential Responsibilities: • Be experienced in CAD design, preferably SolidWorks. • Have a good understanding of manufacturing techniques (machining, sheet metal, injection moulding, 3D printing etc...) • Be confident building and testing your designs, be able to iterate and improve. • Work closely with the manufacturing team to optimize manufacturing steps. • Hold solid mathematical skills, be able to work from 1st principles. • Aid discussions with product managers to fully understand and specify different product requirements.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree or equivalent • Industry experience as a mechanical or multidisciplinary Engineer • Proficiency with hand tools • Proven problem solving ability
