Role Summary:
To develop reciprocating engine control algorithms & software for large gas engines used in power generation applications based on customer requirements and to support verification & validation of the same.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Work in a global team of electrical, controls and software engineers on developing state of the art control systems for reciprocating engines
- Contribute to and lead projects focused on development and implementation of production quality engine control algorithms and software
- Lead the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / program requirements
- Prototype new engine control concepts / enhancements through modeling and simulation
- Support Model-/Hardware-in- the-Loop verification & validation of new engine controllers
- Provide timely communications to technical and line management on significant issues, impacts, or developments which effect schedule, costs, scope of work, or resources
- Prepare and execute project reviews, FMEAs and detailed technical documentation

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Advanced technical education (Bachelors/Masters degree) in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical engineering or related discipline with a focus/specialization on control systems
- Strong background in control theory including advanced control methodologies
- 5+ years experience with modeling, simulation, and tools used in engine control system development, especially Matlab & Simulink
- Strong background in Internal Combustion Engines with respect to engine performance, combustion, emissions, and control
- Skilled in SW development for embedded control systems (Matlab & Simulink, C/C++, Auto Coding, MAAB guidelines, AUTOSAR)
- Knowledge of requirements management techniques and tools
- Awareness of state-of-the-art control software verification and validation processes
- Responsible and team oriented style of work
- Very good analytical skills
- Excellent English language communication skills (spoken and written) for technical communication & communication with stake-holders, colleagues and leadership
- Willingness and ability to work seamlessly with globally distributed teams on common goals
- Willingness to travel to global GE centers and customer sites as and when required

Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in project management
- Experience with DSP programming is desirable
