Role Summary: The Sourcing Intern is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity and exposure to diverse business segments. In this role you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning under the guidance of a Global Commodity Leader in the areas of Labor, Outdoor Controls, and Data Governance.
In addition you will :
Understand strategies for Labor, Outdoor Controls, and other related commodities and programs to proactively drive initiatives to meet Sourcing objectives
Support identification and qualification of new suppliers
Assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations on supplier acceptability
Implement sourcing standards including process & execution, synergies for cost out
Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals
Write reports to track PO activity and supplier performance
Analyze and track Supplier promise date accuracy and develop reports to ensure Supplier promise date accuracy
Drive effective recovery plans and create payment tracking and invoice tracking / invoice analysis
Place Purchase Orders (PO) timely and obtain PO acknowledgements from Suppliers
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality or Operations from an accredited university or college
Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university
Minimum 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (out of 4.0)

Experience with MS Excel, Access, SQL or Visual Basic is preferred
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
PC and database proficiency
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Attendance / Certification through APCIS or ISM Preferred
