Role Summary:
The Senior Materials Planning & Execution Staff Manager will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, lead a Lean, Digital transformation in function and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Leader in Lean Manufacturing
  • Assure inventory and service goals are met and drive the result of zero customer disappointments
  • Own Sourcing responsibilities relative to Capital Investment and Outside Processing of material. In each, managing on-time-delivery, cycle, cost, capacity & growth strategy.
  • Interface with Maintenance, Operations, Technology, IT and other functions on-site to effectively set and achieve the standard on documenting material specifications for purchase
  • Manage external customer relationship and be the face of communication from the Asheville team
  • Enhance the current processes, using data, vendor performance metric reporting, and other digital tools to automate, streamline improve productivity/communication of assigned function.
  • Assure the continued development and growth of assigned personnel through strong leadership
  • Translate, prepare and assign meaningful and functional manufacturing productivity plans to meet established master schedules for customers
  • Work to control inventory levels, cycle time, machine loads, and other aspects as required to meet production schedules
  • Set strategic direction for planning and scheduling activities within the organization
  • Provide leadership in using advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization and in developing, planning and implementing the master schedule
  • Lead the fulfillment activities for site utilizing advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization
  • Determine and apply appropriate optimization methodologies to balance service level, inventory, and resource utilization using advanced planning tools
  • Lead the organization by establishing shop schedules that adhere to the Department schedule, and support those schedules through the managed efforts of schedulers and coordinators


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, shop operations, facilitation and production control in a manufacturing environment, production planning, inventory management principles and practices, or materials management disciplines (OR Associate's Degree {Technical School Education} from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Materials and Inventory Management)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.


Desired Characteristics:
  • Proven track record of leading and executing results relative to Lean Manufacturing
  • Prior indirect material specification and Sourcing knowledge and experience
  • Prior experience in the Digital space with history of automation tools, external data analytics, metrics, and web tools.
  • Ability to self-manage and organize priorities
  • Ability to train and motivate employees
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
