Role Summary: This role will work with frontline EHS to manage EHS performance at project sites and field services locations, which includes local regulatory, internal EHS programs and customer requirements. Focus will be on high risk operations such as lifting, working at heights and electrical safety. Candidate is expected to build a good working relationship with local leadership, mentor frontline EHS leaders and build a network for sharing expertise and best practices.
Essential Responsibilities: • Leads and coaches frontline EHS Projects/Services Leaders • Understands and serves the needs of distributed projects and field services operations • Understands and serves the needs of GE businesses and One EHS functions • Drives health & safety compliance and the reduction of risk • Site visits to project sites and field services locations to review and assess EHS performance • Review and advice local leadership on local regulatory compliance and implementation • Review and advice local leadership on High Risk Operations performance and implementation • Support frontline EHS and local leadership on implementing customer EHS requirements • Work with frontline EHS and local leadership to drive Life Saving Principles across projects sites and services locations • Work with regional Projects and Service Experts and business EHS colleagues on serious injury and fatality prevention programs • Provide support & participate in serious incidents and potentially severe events investigations • Plan / conduct EHS training, lead EHS audits and supports all other EHS requests as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or polytechnic – strong relevant working experience in substitution of educational qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis • Hold the relevant Indonesian Certifications for Worksite safety & Health Officer for local regulations/Requirements • Minimum of 6 years overseeing the execution of EHS programs at infrastructural projects or construction project sites • Ability to travel 50% of the time • Able to communicate in English and local language (Bahasa Indonesia) effectively
Desired Characteristics: • Expertise in lifting operations, work at heights and/or electrical safety highly desired • Experience in construction project management • Experience training construction workers on basic EHS programs • Strong understanding of local legal requirements associated with EHS issues • Demonstrated ability to influence, organize, motivate and lead teams, drive change, and interact cross functionally • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with internal and external customers, and all levels of the organization • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to facilitate and conduct presentations with large and small groups
