Role Summary: The role will primarily focus on production optimization services using GE oil and gas software and services solutions and to some degree, other new technology solutions.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Senior Production Engineer, you will:
Be responsible for continuous modelling and analysis of well-data using GE Artificial Lift Optimization and Automation software for the purpose of providing operators with sound analytical reports of well and field optimization opportunities to increase production, minimize downtime and reduce lifting costs
Define and implement upgrade of remote monitoring and diagnostics center as well as roles and processes for interfacing with clients to perform production optimization services
Develop competency matrix and domain/process/application training targeted to junior petrotechnical services team members as well as other functions in the company (deployment, support, sales, etc)
Work with Commercial Operations (Sales) to refine the written RFI/RFP/proposal process assuring accuracy of proposals prior to submitting to customers
Present high-risk projects to Management for discussion and approval prior to quotation especially where specific development or 3rd party technology or services will be required
Work with deployment team to ensure smooth transition from pilot/implementation phase to ongoing monitoring/optimization service
Provide support, training and guidance to client personnel
Provide feedback on software and products to aid product development
Co-operation with managers and other engineers to achieve the goals of the company in an efficient and professional manner
Technical presentations with an emphasis on value to clients and develop/deliver industry white papers, case studies and conference presentations
Track and provide reports on specific business metrics established by management
Following Company HSE and other procedures/policies
Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Production Engineer at an operator
Minimum 5 years of experience with monitoring, diagnostics and optimization of artificial lift systems (ESP, PCP, Gas Lift and Rod Pumping) as well as naturally flowing wells
Ability and willingness to work in office and (limited) field environments
Ability and willingness to prepare detailed technical/complex reports and other documents, ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
Production / Petroleum Engineering background with Artificial Lift experience
Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited college or university preferable
Proficient in Nodal Analysis, well modelling, well-test analysis, and optimization techniques for both artificially lifted and naturally flowing wells
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to define value specifically for different technology stakeholders (engineering, operations, management, IT)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Business development experience will be beneficial
