Role Summary:
The EHS Leader will support the Plant Manager to achieve EHS excellence. Primary responsibility will be for the management of all key programs/initiatives in terms of EHS and Security for the repair facility.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the EHS Leader, you will:

  • Responsible for developing and promoting a healthy and safe work environment / culture for all employees
  • Maintain 100% compliance with federal, state and local EHS regulations for the Denver Service Center
  • Develop plans to ensure compliance of plant operations with government regulatory agency requirements relating to air, water, waste and associated health and safety
  • Integration with all functions and associates to aggressively reduce accidents and injuries
  • Lead implementation of all GE EHS programs including all Powersuite web tools, conduct EHS training, compliance audits, drive safety committee, culture change, lean-ergonomics, crisis management/emergency preparedness, Ecomagination GHG commitments, injury & illness case management, provide progress reports
  • Incorporate EHS approach to repair processes
  • Managing & addressing building & facility equipment maintenance needs



Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with operational safety, compliance, and environmental programs in a Manufacturing and/or Repair Service facility



Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certified (GE employees only)
  • Knowledge of GE Energy Programs and Systems
  • Knowledgeable of Colorado environmental regulations
  • Demonstrated ability in driving proactive compliance assurance
  • Experienced working with a Union workforce
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to integrate business and financial objectives into EHS decision-making
  • Mastery of influencing skills - proven ability to work within & lead cross-functional teams
  • Results-oriented: drive effective short-term actions within the context of a longer term system improvement vision
