Role Summary:
To lead the development of new calculation methodologies and design guidelines related to structural components (i.e: castings, manufactured structures, critical bolted joints, welded joints…). Knowledge management and dissemination of the core technologies that assures the structural integrity of wind turbines (i.e. FE simulation, Dynamic analysis, manufacturing processes, methodologies & product validation, …)

Essential Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the selected candidate will be:


  • Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet both near term and long range engineering needs within the field of structural design and simulation
  • Provide technical direction to large projects (i.e: support and justify proposed solutions related to structural design)
  • Provide technical consultation on product related problems throughout the business including suppliers, assembly plant and field support (SDR’s, NCR’s, …)
  • Maintain an active role in developing new technologies and methodologies related to structural components (castings, manufactured structures, critical bolted joints, welded joints…) to improve the performance, quality, lead time and cost of the components under his/her responsibility
  • Support other GE businesses, internal & external customers, and suppliers as required
  • Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, supplier, or field issues
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters
  • Use knowledge and expertise to market winning proposals in anticipation of business product needs
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company
  • Provide technical guidance, direction and training to new and experienced structural engineers, specialists, technicians and co-ops

Principales responsabilités

Les principales responsabilités du/de la candidat(e) retenu(e) sont les suivantes:


  • Identifier, développer, évaluer, et introduire des solutions techniques pour répondre aux besoins techniques identifiés dans le domaine de la conception structurelle sur le court et le long terme
  • Assurer la supervision technique pour les projets de grande envergure (soutenir et justifier les solutions proposées en matière de conception structurelle)
  • Fournir des conseils techniques concernant les problèmes liés aux produits tout au long du projet, y compris aux fournisseurs et aux équipes de l'usine d'assemblage et de support sur le terrain (dans le cadre des SDR, NCR, etc.)
  • Contribuer activement au développement de nouvelles technologies et méthodologies liées aux composants structurels (pièces moulées, pièces manufacturées, raccords boulonnés critiques, raccords soudés…) afin d'améliorer les performances, la qualité, les délais et les coûts des composants qui lui sont affectés
  • Apporter son soutien aux autres branches GE, aux clients internes et externes et aux fournisseurs, le cas échéant
  • Fournir des conseils techniques aux équipes interfonctionnelles tout au long du projet afin d'apporter des améliorations ou de résoudre les problèmes de fabrication, des fournisseurs ou des techniciens intervenant sur le terrain
  • Analyser, préparer et présenter des informations techniques aux clients internes et externes de GE sous forme de rapports, de dossiers et de lettres afin de communiquer efficacement avec eux et de leur fournir des recommandations
  • Exploiter ses connaissances et son expertise afin d'élaborer des propositions permettant de remporter des marchés de manière à anticiper les besoins de la branche en matière de produits
  • Élaborer des publications d'inventions dans le but de protéger les technologies qui offrent à la branche un avantage concurrentiel, et de protéger les droits de propriété intellectuelle de l'entreprise
  • Conseiller, orienter et former, sur le plan technique, les nouveaux ingénieurs en structures, spécialistes, techniciens et stagiaires, mais aussi les personnes plus expérimentées

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science or equivalent knowledge or experience
    • Strong experience in an engineering capacity
    • Very strong experience in structural design
    • Proven experience in developing calculation methodologies and tools
    • Used to explain/justify the selected solutions and the decisions taken in front of the management and/or customers
    • Fluency in English
    • EU Work Permit

    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

    Qualifications/Exigences


    • BAC + 3 en ingénierie, en physique, en chimie, en mathématiques ou en informatique
    • Anglais courant
    • Au moins 12 à 15 années d'expérience dans le domaine de la conception structurelle
    • Expérience avérée du développement d'outils et de méthodologies de calcul
    • Habitué(e) à expliquer/justifier les solutions choisies et les décisions prises face à la direction et/ou au client
    • Permis de travail européen
