Role Summary: The Lead Production Supervisor is responsible for defined work or projects that will contribute to the success of the GE Waukesha facility. In this role you support Waukesha assembly and focus on hourly supervision, driving safety, quality, delivery and productivity measures that drive toward the goal of making GE Waukesha best-in-class.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Lead Production Supervisor, you will:
Drive employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement within the final assembly area
Participate in Lean initiatives, and deliver process improvements in conjunction with engineering
Manage multiple projects and general productions by providing scheduling, resource management, budget control and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) compliance
Bring new ideas and positive support to the current processes and projects that pertain to the final assembly area
Implement productivity actions in order to improve the process and respect objectives
Participate in EHS related actions, to improve safety in own area
Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing, sales, marketing, and other support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, production, quality, cost savings, and new product development goals within schedule and budget
Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that the technical and EHS perspective is properly conveyed
Assure that all production employee scheduling and resource allocation is optimized
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university or college OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a combustion engine manufacturing environment
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory position
Prior manufacturing supervision
Ability to manage priorities and achieve results in a complex environment
Strong cross-functional project management skills
Strong manufacturing process knowledge
Insatiable appetite to learn and adapt to win and succeed
Highly effective oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Exposure to or experience in a union environment
Six Sigma training or equivalent quality certification
