Role Summary:
As part of the GE India Multi-modal Manufacturing team, the Material Specialist is responsible for planning of material, incoming & outbound shipments including customs clearance at all stages, transportation of raw material and finished goods. This position will also be responsible for recordkeeping for all activities related to Material Planning & Control and shipments (inbound and outbound) and Inventory management for a smooth operation , optimizing inventory, minimize production impact due

Essential Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for Production Planning, Inventory / Warehousing and Shipping / Receiving departments
• Coordinate and supervise all Inbound/Domestic/Outbound Shipments for Reciprocating Compressors
• Responsible for all import and export customs clearances and customs inspections and corporate customs audits. Apply for and get all customs related permits for smooth operation of facility
• Coordination of all Logistics activities with those of other departments, including Engineering, Project Management, Production, Production Control, Finance and Quality Control
• Set up Processes and Operating mechanisms for efficient working with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
• Single point contact for all information and reporting on inventory, customer shipments and material planning status
• Set strategic and tactical plans to achieve annual business objectives
• Understand issues and opportunities within areas of responsibility and drive process improvements
• Track shipments from global suppliers and drive on time deliveries via use of daily tracking process, Shipping Lines, and Freight Forwarders
• Ensure timely submission of customs document submission to facilitate fast and accurate deliveries
• Facilitate use of required planning and forecasting tools to simplify overall Logistics process
• Develop optimum Logistics model to drive the most efficient flow of materials and products

Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Highest Levels of Personal Integrity and Safety Mindset.
2. First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Degree in any engineering discipline or an equivalent degree in materials management
3. 3-6 Years of Experience in experience in export-import compliance, logistics and operations
4. Working knowledge of Material Planning module of an ERP system – Oracle, SAP etc.
5. Demonstrated experience in managing RM, WIP and FG inventory

Desired Characteristics:
1. Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
2. Prior experience in export-import compliance, logistics and operations is preferred
3. Strong organizational skills, MS office skills
4. Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously and Ability to work in a matrix organization.
5. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with good oral and written communication skills
6. Strong project and team leadership
7. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma Methodology
8. Fluent in English and Hindi Language (Written and Spoken)
9. Marathi Language Skills (Verbal & Written)
