Role Summary:
The Assembly Technician will perform a wide variety of operations in the assembly, wiring, and finish processing of medium and low voltage switchgear components and equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for producing a variety of high variation products on both moving assembly lines as well as static project builds.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Assembly Technician, you will:

  • Assemble and fit mechanical and electrical parts / components (i.e. sheet metal, copper, insulating materials and various components) to specified tolerances
    Install devices, route wire harnesses and wire various devices within the equipment
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the Engineering documentation, process instructions, and required tolerances
  • Work from 2D and 3D drawings, sketches, verbal, and written instruction
  • Use a variety of computer software to manage production orders and to view and print engineering drawings
  • Appropriately record forms, signoff sheets, and checklists
  • Complete annual safety training
  • Be responsible for tool cleaning and maintenance and well as general housekeeping
  • Support our continuous improvement processes through our Lean initiatives
  • Perform other related duties, as required


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, as required


Desired Characteristics:
  • Minimum of 1 year of proven success in a manufacturing assembly position
  • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting blueprints / drawings
  • Strong command and understanding of shop math (i.e. decimals, add and subtract equations, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience working with hand and power tools
  • Ability to use various measuring devices in a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing various computer systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to work from complex mechanical and electrical summaries, drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, process instructions and other similar type documents
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety, quality and Lean methodologies in the workplace
  • Experienced in the use of various computer programs in an industrial setting
