Role Summary:
To manage the support and deployment of Wide Area Monitoring System (WAMS) solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:
•Understanding the customer requirements to support the WAMS software and optimize operation
•Participate in complex issue resolution (3rd line) – analyzing and diagnosing software, hardware and performance issues, and devising effective solutions.
•IT hardware selection, specification, and assisting in procurement and deployment.
•Assisting with the deployment of WAMS Software into Control Centres.
•Assisting with the deployment of WAMS Substation equipment (PMUs, SPDCs, SSOs)
•Providing technical consultation on pre-sales and tender responses.
•Technical assistance to internal customers as required.
•Customer response SLAs being met
•Complex issues resolved, meeting delivery and maintenance SLAs
•Customer feedback via PM or directly

•Graduate (Computer Science/IT Networking or related) or equivalent knowledge and experience.
•Expert knowledge of Computer Networking, with relation to wide area networks.
•Expertise in IDS/IPS systems, IP technologies (TCP, UDP), Multicast network technology (IGMPv3), Time protocols (NTP, PTP, GPS).
•Good knowledge of High Performance Storage Infrastructures (including SAN, NAS, and RAID).
•Experience of Synchrophasor Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS), in particular, knowledge of the IEEE C37.118 or IEC 61850 specifications is highly desirable.
•Expert IT security knowledge (in particular with relation to Power industry).
•Computational hardware performance testing (benchmarking, performance estimation, POC). Hardware resource requirements in WAMS design.
•Software Deployment in enterprise environments (e.g. knowledge of Active Directory and Security, NERC CIP, VPN technologies).
•Ability to work within a small team of engineers, for effective delivery.
