Role Summary: The Lead Quality Engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating quality goals, programs and processes that meet business need. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others and have the ability effect short-term and some long-term Quality goals.
Essential Responsibilities: • Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Analyze production and service limitations, then develop, implement and evaluate quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques to track the progress of improvement efforts • Oversee evaluation of test equipment, precision measurements, accuracy measurements and performance testing • Work with Material Review Board to disposition nonconforming material and devise remediation actions • Work with New Product Development teams to approve new suppliers of material/services used in product realization • Work with Sustaining Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve quality issues related to existing suppliers • Provide advanced quality engineering of new product introduction involving new processes or automated equipment • Conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools • Collect, organize, monitor and distribute information for the Company to customers/suppliers related to product quality and process improvement • Specify, develop and accept advanced technology, quality information and test equipment • Act as a consultant (as a recognized authority) to the quality, manufacturing and engineering organizations to improve Quality and manufacturing processes, introduce new products and improve product design
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing) • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Quality
Desired Characteristics: • Prior experience in areas of quality assurance such as: DOE, incoming material control, process control, systems performance, product evaluation, MSA, metrology and software • Demonstrated ability to conduct internal and external quality audits to recognize improvement opportunities and work with stake holders to identify and implement effective CA/PA plans • Six Sigma Training/Ability to apply statistical methods to analysis of engineering problems • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (CE/UL/CSA/FAA/CAAC) • Prior Air Carrier quality experience • Experience in FAR part 121 Prior experience with AS9100 or being a certified auditor a plus • Demonstrated skill in root cause/corrective action
