Role Summary: The Staff Enterprise Application Engineer will be responsible for designing a large service or integration of services, will learn the relevant technologies and lead design discussion in a limited manner. This individual will demonstrate a deep understanding of the service, it’s dependencies, and its alignment with overall strategy.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will:
Break down problems and estimate time for deployment tasks
Provide over site and mentoring to team members
Make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment
Understand the whole enterprise solution or service, its components and the interrelationship between them while being an expert in the assigned capability
Help in designing interfaces and information exchange between service components
Possess advanced domain knowledge and show great customer focus
Demonstrate clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
Develop processes/methodologies and execute build, release & deployment processes
Defines his or her own role in the delivery of the product/service design
Articulates the need for scalability and understands the importance of improving quality through testing
Drive design reviews, define interfaces between components, and apply existing technology to designs
Design programmatic capabilities for all aspects of service operability
Demonstrate expertise in assessing application or service performance and optimizing/improving it through design and best practices
Understand and support core data structures and interfaces for information exchange across platforms
Understand capability of enterprise solutions to make sound decisions around configuring software vs engineering software
Understanding of business process to determine how to optimize both process and utilization of enterprise applications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Information Technology, specifically Enterprise Application Engineering

Experience managing and using Splunk
Experience with Linux operating systems
Familiarity with CI and automation tools such as Jenkins and Chef
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and Ruby
Familiarity with hosting applications in AWS
Strong communication skills and desire to help customers achieve success
Willing to learn and utilize new technologies, concepts and procedures as appropriate to project requirements
