Role Summary: Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors, and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine & space. Unison's products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying - from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747's and rockets traveling to space. We presently have an opening for a 1st shift CNC Machine Operator/Programmer, working from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Essential Responsibilities: Perform all level 1 – 4 functions. Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience. Leading Team initiatives. Plan sequence of operations to produce part. Utilize Unigraphics and/or Cadman to write complex programs and set up sheets for use on CNC machines. May utilize SSS to order special tooling. Ensure speeds, feeds, and tooling is correct for material being processed. May set up and operate CNC equipment. Coordinates with internal and/or external customers and suppliers. Coordinate with support resources (i.e. – Engineers) to compliantly troubleshoot tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary.-Add in same verbiage as prior. Perform duties on most complex proto-type or first time builds. Most frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department.
Qualifications/Requirements: Education Required: o High School Diploma and/or GED. o Special education and/or training to support level 1-4 knowledge. o Prior Vocational and/or Trade training or equivalent experience. Experience Required: o Must be proficient in performing level 1 – 4 responsibilities. o Knowledge of machine shop operations, preferably 5-10 years of experience. Skill Level Required: o Level 1 - 4 skills required. o Must understand machine function of machines that will be programmed. o Perform complex mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, and principles of trigonometry, etc. o Possess expert understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation o Experience working in Cad/Cam systems.
Desired Characteristics: Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations. Experience working in Unigraphics and/or CadMan. Possess programming familiarity with EDM operation, Turret Press, Grinder, and Press Brake.
