Role Summary: The plant is in need of a Process Engineer who will act as a front-line leader. This role will provide leadership for manufacturing groups that produce Fluorescent, Energy Efficient Soft White, and LED lamps.
In addition you will :
Direct a team of hourly operations employees to meet EHS, quality, service, schedule attainment and productivity goals for operations area
Implement actions to improve product and process quality, decrease downtime and eliminate shrinkage
Provide work direction to shop and maintenance Personnel
Responsible for setting clear expectations of the team and driving the accountability required
Provide scheduling, discipline, work direction and performance feedback for hourly workforce
Provide engineering support of lamp manufacturing equipment
Have a basic understanding of machining processes: turning, milling, welding, grinding, etc.
Have a strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent root cause analysis skills
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited University or College
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience (including leadership experience; experience in drafting / 3D modeling software / AutoCAD)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Ability and willingness to spend significant amount of time on the manufacturing floor (understanding issues mechanics and operators must face on a daily basis)
Ability and willingness to take on assignment challenges in ALL areas of the plant
Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drafting / 3D modeling software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change / results
Possesses a high level of motivation and resourcefulness
Proven success leading an hourly workforce
Proven process improvement experience
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified
Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
Experience in a mechanics trade or similar
