Role Summary:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for GE Industrial Solutions Americas, lead supplier approval and qualification activities supporting the RoHS conversion program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross functional sourcing, technology, and manufacturing teams, as well as TRS experts, to execute supplier qualifications and changes to meet RoHS2 directive 2011/65/EU.

  • Support sourcing team with initial gathering of TRS assessments from suppliers.

  • Conduct supplier approval activities with quality and process surveys, and implement improvement plans, to ensure robust quality systems and process controls.

  • Drive supplier qualifications supporting any material and design changes required to meet TRS specifications. Resolve any technical and process qualification issues with the supplier.

  • Establish product and process CTQ performance and monitoring at suppliers by implementing robust quality control plans.

  • Coordinate trial and pilot builds with suppliers and manufacturing sites.

  • Support development and implementation of Supplier Quality related online tools with suppliers including Windchill and Suppliernet systems.

  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Engineering degree required. Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of TRS (RoHS / Reach)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Supplier Quality Assurance and/or Quality Management Systems including auditing experience

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience in plating and finishing – with emphasis on process evaluation and quality assurance.

  • Ability of interpretation of engineering standards, drawings/ specifications

  • Demonstrated ability to handle diverse

  • activities simultaneously, ability to work cross-functionally and interface with different teams, functions, and sites.

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Six Sigma GB or BB Certified.

  • Familiar with Change Management

  • Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance and/or Quality Management Systems auditing

  • Materials Engineering or Science degree a plus

  • Results oriented approach, passionate, disciplined, organized, analytical, self-starter

  • Demonstrated energy and project management skills

  • Willingness to travel

  • Team player

  • Experience with 3D CAD software.
