Role Summary:
The Sr Lifecycle Operations Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and testing software to create solutions and services tailored to the needs of the business and its customers. Requires developed and strong foundational skills and knowledge of relevant technologies in the development, automation, and devOps space. You will be a member of an integrated team working to deliver successful outcomes around automation, software development, and the Predix platform

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development methods and infrastructure
  • Support impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design/architectural considerations, and implementation strategy
  • Expert level skills in development language: Python/Java/GO
  • Intermediate level skills in development language: Scala
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, data scientists, front end developers, tools owners, and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP/CI, Software and product security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and testing techniques

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, similar STEM degree, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 5+ years experience with Java/Python/GO

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with NGINX
  • Working knowledge of responsive design concepts and frameworks
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Hands-on experience developing restful
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions in matrixed environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to diplomatically advocate for appropriate support staffing levels
  • Highly self-motivated/able to work independently
  • Understanding of Github
  • Experience with influxDB
  • Experience with Sensu
  • Strong Debugging/Troubleshooting expertise
  • Good Knowledge on many technology frameworks: Java, Python, Scala, Ruby, Spring, MVC, NGINX, Apache, SOAP/REST web services
  • Expert level Knowledge of development tools and integrated build systems: Eclipse, Jenkins, Maven, Automated testing
