Role Summary: The Plating Operator will operate and perform troubleshooting on GE Auburn's Electroplating lines. You will be the last person to touch product before it goes out the door, so attention to detail is essential.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Plating Operator, you will:
Operate and troubleshoot plating equipment in a machine shop environment
Perform basic work vouchering and inventory management
Interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions
Follow all safety and hazardous waste rules for the generation and placement of hazardous waste into containers
Perform standard work per the quality work plans
Generate improvement ideas on a weekly basis
Participate in team based improvement activities
Actively participate in standard work revisions
High School Diploma / GED
Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift
Ability and willingness to lift up to 40 pounds throughout the day
Possess a good safety, attendance and performance record
Ability to interpret shop blueprints
Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions
Ability to do shop math
Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting
Ability to maintain numerical and written records
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to interpret written specs
Ability to work well with others
Be responsible for following the hazardous waste rules for the generation and placement of hazardous waste into containers
Be able to understand Hazardous Waste Management Training required as per Maine Chapter 851, Section 8B(5)
Be able to perform basic work vouchering and inventory management
