Role Summary: The Technology Program Leader is responsible for leading new technology / product development teams and for the overall direction, execution and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals, while following GE Water & Process Technology’s established procedures. Additionally, the Program Leader will serve as a resource in the identification of new monitoring and control technologies to solve of customer’s most challenging problems.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Technology Program Manager, you will:
Proactively work with Commercial and Product Management teams and provide technical expertise in the identification, evaluation and selection of new internal and external technologies to meet monitoring and control needs
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, seeking input from all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technology
Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress, managing changes to the scope, schedule and costs, ensuring projects are delivered on-time and budget
Coordinate internal and third parties / vendors resources for the efficient execution of projects
Direct and support project teams through the multiple phases of the product life cycle process
Lead technical risk management activities utilizing FastWorks methodologies
Build strong relationships with Product Management, Commercial Operations, Product Applications and Technology teams
Manage all stakeholder relationships through continuous communication of status and escalate to management as needed
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Engage Product Safety and Product Security teams to ensure all requirements are fulfilled
Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work group
Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource and issues
Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or a related science discipline
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in new product development
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with sensors/monitors, controllers or chemical feed equipment
Proven working experience in project management for projects involving complex, multidisciplinary efforts
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking capabilities
Strong client-facing and internal communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven experience in risk management
Proven experience in people management with demonstrated experience in influencing, leading and conflict management
Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in instrumentation and hardware development
Experience in industrial water (cooling, boiler, waste), refining and/or upstream hydrocarbon processing market segments
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
