Role Summary: The Chemical Delivery Hazmat Driver will drive a tractor-trailer combination capacity up to 80,000 GVW, to transport and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials in bulk or packaged form. You will be required to load and unload tanker, box truck, or flatbed. This position will be based out of New Philadelphia, Ohio but will make deliveries to all GE customers in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast US regions.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Chemical Delivery Hazmat Driver, you will:
Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations
Follow all applicable state and federal DOT regulations and appropriate safety procedures when transporting hazardous materials
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles; be responsible for scheduling both preventative and unplanned maintenance
Work with scheduler, customer sites, inventory planners and sales reps to obtain delivery instructions and schedule unloading
Secure cargo for transport, using straps, blocks, chain, binders, and/or covers; may be required to load and unload trucks, or help others with loading, unloading and trailer clean outs
Deliver to all GE customers in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast US regions including, but not limited to: Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Washington D.C.
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 5 years of experience with class A CDL, hazardous materials transportation and driving a tractor-trailer combination
Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
Ability and willingness to travel up to 95% of the time, as required
Ability and willingness to travel overnights, as required
Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid TWIC
