Role Summary:
GE Lighting's Consumer Sales Organization has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Account Manager to be on the forefront of GE Lighting's efforts
to generate demand in the Drug channel segment with a focus on solution-based selling and new account attainment in the territory. The selected candidate will be responsible for not only maintaining but growing the account base to deliver on business financial goals and objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day to day operations and functionality for a $10MM drug channel and farm / fleet channel package
  • Develop and build on relationships at multiple levels internal and external to GE
  • Develop strategic, long-term relationships with key decision makers at end user accounts
  • Execute and deliver sales growth
  • Identify new product opportunities and qualify prospects in new market areas
  • Seek ways to successfully integrate and implement customer social media strategies with those of GE to drive on line and in store sales
  • Clearly articulate value proposition and influence customer decision making process
  • Successfully resolve customer claims and disputes
  • Strategically plan and execute on go to market strategy
  • Lead the creation, development and implementation of customer promotional planning and execution of national marketing initiatives to coincide with GE marketing and promotional strategies
  • Deliver consistently accurate quarterly forecasting and estimates
  • Maintain customer product listings, coordinate planogram resets and oversee implementation
  • Coordinate with internal resources such as Marketing, Product Management and Supply Chain to help accomplish goals
  • Sell and troubleshoot technical products
  • Demonstrate GE values

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, industrial distribution or sales related discipline from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :


  • Willingness and ability to travel (mostly by car) up to 50% of the time
  • Preferred location is Chicago, IL

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), PDA / iPhone, search engines
  • Minimum 1-5 years of sales experience, preferably in Consumer goods or related field
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven ability to sell a technical solution
  • Strong presentation, PC and negotiation skills
  • Results-driven with a sense of urgency and strong follow up skills
  • Minimum 5-7 years of proven successful sales in the lighting industry and understanding of the value proposition
  • Strong hunter skills to seek out new business opportunities, present GE Consumer lighting programs and successfully close these opportunities
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a team environment where the performance of others affects personal success
  • Highly customer centric and service oriented
  • Motivated self-starter, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Self-confident & creative thinker
  • Strong executive presence
