Role Summary: The CAD Application Engineer is responsible for the continued development and evolution of engineering design tools within GE Industrial Solutions. You will leverage your knowledge of Creo and Windchill to work closely with global design teams identifying new approaches, process improvements, and system enhancements which increase engineering productivity.
Essential Responsibilities: As the CAD Application Engineer, you will:
Provide leadership for global design teams in the efficient use and application of Creo and related engineering design tools
Drive increased usage of 3D CAD data supporting both Model Based Definition (MBD) and Digital Thread initiatives
Develop strategies to effectively use advanced CAD features and functionality to improve engineering efficiency and reduce time to market
Identify, develop, and implement enhancements to maximize engineering productivity
Establish standardized processes and procedures
Collaborate with users and software providers to develop and drive best practices across the organization
Foster development and increase proficiency of staff engineers
Establish learning plans and develop training content as required
Provide global user support including troubleshooting and issue resolution
Maintain awareness of industry software development and innovation
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline
Minimum of 10 years Pro/E, Wildfire, Creo experience
Windchill PLM product suite experience
Industry design and manufacturing process experience
Experienced in use of GD&T, Sigmetrix GD&T Advisor & CETOL, ANSYS, and Cadence Allegro
Knowledge of CAD to CAM processes
Ability to influence change, guide, and lead others not in a direct reporting relationship
Demonstrated ability to manage and work within global, cross-functional teams
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
