Role Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is directly responsible for production support of the Tonkaflo Pump and Housing product lines. You will own the design, prototype, and test of custom multistage centrifugal pumps, housings and related components for the water treatment industry. The Manufacturing Engineer also leads projects to improve safety, increase productivity and automate production processes.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
Design custom multistage centrifugal pump assemblies using the base product family as a template
Create custom bills of material, drawings, routings and material master to support custom factory order requirements
Support sales, custom engineering and manufacturing in developing ideas for improvements and new products
Develop tooling, equipment and processes to support production operations
Technically support activities involved in the specification, procurement, fabrication, installation and documentation of product designs
Interface with designers to create drawings as required
Coordinate activities concerned with pump and housing costing analysis, process and design reviews, assembly, testing, and resolution of problems with equipment in the field
Work with Product Management to develop and execute launch plans to bring new product introductions to the market by working closely with the Commercial Operations, Marketing, Technology and Supply Chain teams
Develop, manage and implement product forecasts and targeted product stocking strategies with Sales, PSI and Supply Chain
Provide support for the creation of sales tools, launch materials and collaterals with Product Marketing resources
Assure that all engineering designs, bills of material, technical data are completely and accurately documented by reviewing engineering drawings and SAP (MRP system) entries
Coordinate activities concerned with: costing and analysis reports, process and mechanical design reviews; technical developments; scheduling and engineering resolution related to design, testing and field problems
Work closely with manufacturing, sourcing and engineering to address daily tactical engineering issues, such as pump or housing modifications for new business, vender issues and part substitutions, and other factory related troubleshooting
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years of pump engineering or other manufacturing engineering experience
Mechanical Engineering Degree with experience with pressure vessels and fluid mechanics
Strong Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and basic understanding of water chemistry
Process design experience including engineering experience with membrane based water treatment systems
Strong process and project management skills with ability to drive projects and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and computer skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to travel up to 10%
