Role Summary:

Display hands-on leadership in directing the overall quality, health, safety, and environmental initiatives for EHS committee group at 2 different processes (manufacture and repair of electric motors for locomotive traction). Audit all subcontractors through safe work plan (contractors risk assessment).



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Processes information in order to obtain appropriate regulatory permits regarding safety and environmental health to meet all legal requirements.

  • Ensure training program compliance in accordance with site requirements, developing an awareness EHS campaign for every training topic. Leading the Emergency Response Team and developed drills.

  • Provides support to all areas of the business regarding EHS.

  • Identifies means to meet or exceed EHS objectives set forth by the company.

  • Lead the EHS task forces.

  • Enters appropriate EHS information in GENSUITE

  • Runs executive EHS committee meetings as necessary.

  • Maintains EHS records as required by the company's standards.

  • Performs scheduled internal EHS audits to ensure compliance with all EHS standards set forth by the company.

  • Maintains the Clean Industry, VPP, CTPAT, FM Global certifications.

  • Maintains the Safe Work Place and Sustainability Principles of our Manufacturing system.


  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Chemical Engineer or similar

  • At least 4 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety

  • Experience is ISO14001, OSHA 18001

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills.
