Role Summary: Perform disassembly and assembly of engines and modules in accordance with Company’s documentation and manufacturer's manuals. Maintenance and care of tools and equipment in the work area.and care of tools and equipment in the work area.
Essential Responsibilities: • Perform any or all of the operations necessary for the assembly/disassembly, test prep/de-prep and test support of gas generator LM2500, modules, components, and accessories in accordance with appropriate technical specifications and/or st¬andard work practices • Perform routing of engine hardware, assemblies, tooling and other material in support of assigned area complying with material handling and storage procedures • Perform comprehensive examinations of gas turbine engines and hardware for serviceability and verify work performed is in accordance with technical specifications, routers, manuals or other quality verification criteria. Report and record findings in SFM using GEK manuals as a reference • Maintain records and ensure proper documentation of turbine repairs and Service Bulletin compliance using current quality processes per the Quality Management System (QMS) • Troubleshoot in-process problems, malfunctions, or component failures within the limitations of relevant technical procedures • Use all types of precision measuring instruments and devices, hand and power tools, shop equipment and machinery as assigned • Perform detailed inspections on all turbines at incoming, pretest and final shipment to avoid defects and cost of quality • Complete necessary routers, forms and log sheets as assigned, neatly, accurately and legibly • Work required hours as requested to meet production and customer needs • Work with other technicians to ensure customer requirements and timelines are maintained • Drive safety requirements and compliance with current policies • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to promote safety and prevent FOD • Perform other related duties as requested
Qualifications/Requirements: • Technical diploma or equivalent. • Minimum 1-year prior LM engine or module assembly/disassembly experience. • Experience with LM gas turbines and equipment including but not limited to Service Bulletins, Standard Practices, GEK, and IBCT reporting procedures would be an advantage • Basic knowledge and skills in the use of various hand tools including but not limited to torque wrenches, transducers, multipliers, dial indicators, micrometers, scales and other precision instrumentation. • Must be certified to operate overhead cranes and install crane-rigging systems, as well as, operate industrial forklifts. Qualifying candidates who are not certified will be required to attain certification. • Must have thorough knowledge of FOD/DOD prevention and control. • Must be able to read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications and drawings including GEK’s (manuals).
Desired Characteristics: • Computer literacy with both SFM and Microsoft applications. • Ability to understand and follow work scope instructions. • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language. • Driving License • Boroscope experience • Working knowledge of “Genspec” • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills • Strong mathematical skills
