Role Summary:
The Field Services Technician – Stacks / BOP is responsible for safely maintaining and repairing all GE equipment associated with the Subsea well control system and Riser at Rig level. BOP FST also takes part in pre-planning and running/pulling the riser and subsea BOP and testing the BOP in compliance with company and regulatory procedures. BOP FST is also responsible for managing unplanned events.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Field Services Technician – Stacks / BOP you will:

  • Implement operation safety policy instructions and conduct field work in compliance with all HSE applicable regulations and employee safety practices
  • Ensure operational excellence in the areas of integrity, controllership, and compliance
  • Lead and manage offshore FST crew during planned and unplanned (rig down) events
  • Use detailed planning, be responsible for estimating the number and type of personnel / parts required to meet customer requests, and communicate to Customer Field Superintendent
  • Anticipate requirements beyond those that immediately affect the program and assist in implementing actions to satisfy those requirements
  • Be responsible for executing Between Well Maintenance (BWM) schedules
  • Be responsible for actively updating the BWM schedules regarding daily task accomplishments and variations to schedule
  • Identify daily critical path tasks and manage / execute appropriately
  • Be responsible for providing the daily updated BWM schedule to BHGE Field Superintendent, BHGE CPM, customer scheduler, and others as required
  • Review reported malfunctions and identify / analyze any undesirable trends & make recommendations on findings
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of equipment consistent with industry requirements / standards / methods
  • Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA / QC) service to customers by following BHGE maintenance procedures
  • Be responsible for generating and delivering QA / QC reports for customers and for internal use

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 5 years of experience in a field services position including 3 years of experience in Subsea Engineering role)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Subsea Engineering role

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Travel domestically and internationally for sustained durations and with short notice, minimumof up to 80% travel with offshore, drill ship / rig assignments, as required

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Strong Well Control System operational background and experience
  • Capable of reading Hydraulic schematics
  • Possesses strong passion for ensuring voice of customer is included in solutions
  • A clear thinker and ability to communicate effectively with customers, Field Service personnel and various functions across BHGE organization
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functionally
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Experience in testing of Blow Out Preventer systems
