Role Summary:
The Customer Specialist is responsible for performing services necessary to setup or repair Variable Speed Drives (VSD) & motor control panels at customer's establishment utilizing knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical machinery. Specializes in electrical work and installation of all ESP equipment including VSD, switchboards, SPS, SCADA systems, etc. Presents and delivers training to others.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Customer Specialist, you will:

  • Perform VSD, softstart, and switchboard setup for downhole and SPS applications
  • VSD, softstart, and switchboard troubleshooting & repair
  • Inspects and assembles all types of ESP equipment
  • Provide work direction to cable technicians
  • Diagnoses problems with equipment and recommends appropriate solutions
  • Comply with all EHS requirements
  • Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High school diploma /GED from an accredited school or institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pulling and installing ESP

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
  • Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
  • Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
  • Undergo Periodic fitness for duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications will be required for onshore/offshore remote location assignments

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Basic computer skills
  • Electronic/ Electrical experience
  • Willing & able to obtain a commercial driver license
  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Knowledge of ESPs and Surface Pumping Systems
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong safety culture background
  • Knowledge of VSDs, softstarts, and switchboards
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuitry and setup
