Role Summary: The Marketing & Business Development and Govt Affairs & Policy Director leads the regional growth and business development strategy for GE Myanmar from opportunity identification to opportunity definition and business case development. In addition, you will leverage broad political and policy stakeholder networks and a keen knowledge about Myanmar’s system of government to strengthen GE’s ability to interact with government ministries and to expand GE opportunities for business growth.
Essential Responsibilities: • Drive execution of key growth initiatives delivering business outcome and impact measured through orders growth, market penetration, margin expansion and improvement in local capability and market position. • Balance and align functional, regional and P&L strategic focus and actions to achieve defined goals and objectives. • Partner with the country teams and ASEAN GGO to identify strategic growth opportunities at the region and country level. • Lead VOC (Voice of Customer) studies, industry/vertical analyses and utilize primary/secondary market research (market size, industry data, policy inputs, VOC results, segmentation studies and market position / penetration analyses) to define and influence the prioritization and pursuit of select growth opportunities. • Develop SAS, market size information and strategic initiatives from continuous market data analysis • Own the strategic planning growth playbook process, including key themes, market size and growth rates, and key planning assumptions • Act as a key advisor to the Country Leader and GA&P ASEAN Leader in providing local policy & legislative insights to facilitate GE’s market access into the country. This includes establishing and maintaining excellent access to relevant local government agencies and departments in the country. • Help the Country Leader to identify additional networks and work with potential stakeholders in Myanmar, including officials from various ministries and government bodies and ensuring best compliant business practices in Myanmar. • Secure GE’s legislative and political decision-making priorities in Myanmar, and ensure that necessary stakeholder mapping and other GA&P tools are in place and current. • Lead, develop and cultivate the government affairs, stakeholder and business leaders creating a spirit of commitment to GE’s values, fostering an environment of innovation, a solutions oriented approach to problem solving and a strong drive to deliver results. • Contribute to the broader GA&P ASEAN work plan, particularly with respect to ASEAN-wide policy initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Political Science or equivalent • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in business development, market development or management consulting • Minimum 5 years’ experience dealing with local government entities • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a global, matrix organization
Desired Characteristics: • Tertiary qualifications - Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Marketing or Law degree is preferred • Knowledge of Energy, Healthcare or related industrial sectors • Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects successfully and be a change agent • Outstanding presentation, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills • Ability to navigate in Matrix organization (influence and inclusiveness) • Strong oral and written communication skills in both English & Myanmar
