Role Summary: The Mechanical Engineer participates in mechanical engineering activities within the unit.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Be responsible for the mechanical design of the products manufactured or designed in the Waynesboro manufacturing facility
Guarantee product compliance with customer requirements and industry standards
Ensure that all technical documentation required for the manufacturing and sales of the products (drawings, bill of materials, instructions, manuals, material specifications etc.) is prepared in high quality, efficiently and in a timely manner
Participate in development of new products, improvement and customization of existing products. Works closely with unit and instrument transformer departments involved in the development process
Provide technical support in the resolution of field problems
Provide technical guidance to suppliers, working closely with purchasing
Support manufacturing on a daily basis
Support the sales effort in the preparation of proposals and quotations, and the review of non-standard requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)
2D and 3D hands-on drafting experience is required
Experience in the field of instrument or power transformers
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work independently
Strong problem solving skills
