Role Summary:
The Capital Drilling Equipment (CDE) Engineering Manager will lead and manage a team of engineers supporting product design, product line enhancements, lifecycle and overhaul and repair for offshore drilling, including Risers, Telescopic Joints, Connectors and Diverters.

Essential Responsibilities:
In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy.

In the role of Engineering Manager - Capital Drilling Equipment (CDE) you will:

  • Establish the technical requirements, objectives, timing, resources and funding required and assuring conformance to standards and specifications
  • Effectively manage multiple broad-scope programs simultaneously
  • Drive successful NPI while meeting customer milestone deliveries to agreed cost and schedule commitments
  • Define technology needs to drive MGTP formulation; drive technology into the product
  • Provide technical vision for the team to develop and innovate competitive products
  • Relentless responsiveness to customer / program needs
  • Ensure all aspects of product safety are addressed within the constraints of operational effectiveness, time and cost throughout the product life cycle
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel
  • Establish work group goals within framework of technical and financial objectives
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage resources in team (priorities, filtering, performance development, goals and objectives, etc)
  • Attract and retain talent
  • Hire, manage, empower, inspire, and grow talent pipeline

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering management role

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of Oil & Gas industry experience
  • Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Product knowledge of Riser Systems and Connectors
  • Outstanding influencing, communication and presentation skills, especially when facing customers
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ANSI Y14.5M (GD&T), Finite Element Analysis, MathCad, AutoCAD
  • Knowledgeable of applicable codes and standards (API, ASME, etc.) and global industry safety codes, standards / regulations
  • Understands general material types, coating types, manufacturing techniques, and NDE
  • Demonstrated team building, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in analyzing and prioritizing information to the critical issues and drawing accurate conclusions
